Boston, MA – October 28, 2019 – Representative David K. Muradian, Jr. (R-Grafton) recently awarded Riverdale Mills Corporation “Manufacturer of the Year” for the 9th Worcester District. This award recognizes the contributions and success of manufacturers in the Commonwealth and reflects Rep. Muradian’s enduring support of companies in his district.
“I was extremely honored to present Riverdale Mills Corporation with the Manufacturer of the Year award for my district,” said Representative Muradian. “Riverdale’s commitment to manufacturing excellence in the Blackstone Valley is why time and again the company is worthy of commendation. Over the past 40 years, Riverdale has hired hundreds of residents from our local communities. This award further acknowledges Riverdale Mills commitment to embracing new technologies, bold ideas, and transforming the meaning of manufacturing excellence.”
Located in Northbridge, MA, Riverdale Mills is a manufacturer and distributor of premium quality welded wire mesh for the marine, security, construction and agriculture industries. Founded in 1980, Riverdale revolutionized the lobster fishing industry when it created Aquamesh, the marine wire mesh now used to construct more than 80% of the lobster traps in North America. Today, 45% of Riverdale’s products are exported to clients around the world. Riverdale Mills wire mesh is also used by security experts, poultry farmers, horticulturists and construction management firms.
“Our family business has a unique and robust history in the Blackstone Valley. We have a deep-rooted dedication to our employees, to the greater Northbridge area and to the environment. We are grateful for this award and for the support we have received from Rep. Muradian over the years.”
Each year the Manufacturing Caucus of Massachusetts accepts submissions from various Representatives and Senators on behalf of manufacturing companies throughout Massachusetts. This award not only signifies each representative’s appreciation for the importance of manufacturing in the state, but also recognizes a company’s support and success with Manufacturing in the Commonwealth. Each award recipient was welcomed to the State House for a formal reception where they were recognized for their company’s achievements.
