The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for managing the parts inventory, tools, and supplies for maintenance technicians and machine operators of the industrial facility by performing the following duties:
- Issues tools and equipment to workers, and maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned.
- Receives shipments, confirms counts and inspects for damage, and enters quantities into the computer.
- Procures quotations from qualified suppliers for parts, tools, and materials required by the maintenance and operations teams, and then creates purchase requisitions.
- Maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment making cycle count adjustments as needed, and creates requisitions to replenish supplies.
- Enters data into CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and supports various levels of maintenance organization.
- Works with the Maintenance Planner to order materials/parts required for scheduled maintenance work.
- Maintains accurate records relative to purchase requisitions and inventory in CMMS and SAP.
- Kits parts for planned maintenance and project work orders.
- Follows up with Purchasing Manager and suppliers on critical orders, and communicates any issues adversely impacting deliveries to the Maintenance Planner.
- Inspects tools and equipment for wear or defects and reports damage or wear to supervisor.
- Maintains housekeeping standards in regular work areas and storage areas, and follows company health, safety, and environmental policies/procedures.
- Manages first aid box supplies throughout facility.
- Any additional duties as required.
Tool Crib Attendant Minimum Requirements
- A High School diploma is required. Associates degree (or higher) in a technical field is strongly preferred.
- Five (5) or more years related experience supporting maintenance functions required.
- Basic computer skills are necessary.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Experience with SAP and/or IMAINT systems preferred.
- Familiar with bar-coding/scanning equipment in a CMMS environment preferred.
- Experience with computerized inventory control software or CMMS is required.
- Basic familiarity with the tools and mechanical/electrical components is necessary for the position.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervisory oversight, attentive to detail, and be highly organized.
- Displays sound judgment based on experience to plan and accomplish goals.
- Must be willing to work overtime as required.
- Must have the ongoing right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Tool Crib Attendant Abilities Required
- Must be able to work around moving machinery.
- Must be able to work in an environment with dust exposure, hot work areas in summer and cold work areas in the winters.
- Must be able to wear required PPE.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have problem-solving, job planning and organizing skills and abilities.
- Must be able to build collaborative relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Must meet the physical requirements including, but not limited to lifting, walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
