The Production Scheduler will be an essential position to execute all inventory control functions. Including planning and establishing production schedules to meet customer demands, track inventory, research discrepancies, maintain inventory levels, month end reconciliation, annual physical inventory, cycle count reporting, and driving continual improvements.

Production Scheduler Desired Skills and Experience:

• Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of SAP software packages.
• APICS certification, Inventory Control, and experience preferred.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
• HS Diploma or equivalent and one year experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• The physical demands described must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individual may be required to stand or walk for extended periods of time. Reaching, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Individual’s work station is located in the stockroom on the manufacturing floor. The noise level in the work environment is moderate

Production Scheduler Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Focus on minimizing changeovers and production schedule changes while maintaining the integrity of production.
• Work with Manufacturing Line Manager(s), Purchasing, and Inventory Control to recommend long term resolutions to shortages due to lack of material control on the production floor.
• Ensure that shipments made are routed to the correct destination,
• Understand all product production flow.
• Continuous coordination and follow up with the workcell team.
• Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
• Follow up on the work load to avoid any potential gap on those operations and also assure the flow of the order.
• Validate the cycle times for the shop floor and update the system or make sure that the Work Orders have the right time loaded.
• Follow up on the given strategy for releasing orders on time.
• Revise weekly the progress on the commitments given to the customers to assure the execution is in place and to avoid any problem that might affect the delivery of product and also comply with the operative goals for the plant.
• Administrate the work load to assure the correct execution on the planning strategy, supporting the development and implementation for new strategies in order to improve the efficiency of the resources allocated in any given operation that needs improvement.
• Follow up and validate that the materials and parts arrive on time in the area, making sure the correct execution of the operation in timely manner.
• Assure the Vertical Planning in the critical areas.
• Is responsible for load and release the sequence, inform to the planning supervisor, Customer Service and Inventory Control the current status by the proper communication channels that are traceable, when required.
• Is responsible for identifying the best practices and execute them, as well as coordinate and implement any process to assure the operation execution.
• Is responsible for give the priority and commits based on the Load to Capacity analysis tools in normal basis as well to communicate any given constraint that may.
• Provide any relevant information to support and develop the initiatives and planning strategies.
• Analyze and report the load to capacity in the short term.
• Assure that the team is focused on maximize the efficiency of the resource allocated in the critical areas (tools, materials, support, etc.).
• Analyze the requirements either materials and capacity as well to communicate any possible constraint to the team in order make sure the efficient use of resources based on the customer requirements.
• Identify any key factor that may enhance the productivity on your work place.
