The Director of Manufacturing & Operations will ensure operational activities are executed to satisfy customer commitments while maximizing efficiencies through continuous improvement management.  Reports to the CEO.

Director of Manufacturing & Operations Qualifications:

  • Ten plus years of related work experience in a manufacturing leadership role preferably in metals manufacturing or machining
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Up and down effective oral and written communication skills
  • Solid analytical and strategic planning skills.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong team builder and player.
  • Change agent with a desire to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ability to think strategically and to translate strategy into actions
  • Ability to prioritize and provide clear direction to team members in a highly dynamic environment.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for overall team member safety.
  • Responsible for product quality.
  • Supervises and develops Materials/Production Planning Manager, Inventory Control Manager & Scheduler, Maintenance, Shipping, and Engineering team.
  • Manage operational deployment in manufacturing processes and techniques, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, and plant performance measures to ensure that all facility financial and working capital goals are met or exceeded.
  • Generate Operational input to Annual Operating Plan and generate Capital requirements projections to attain throughput requirements and grow the business to realize strategic goals.
  • Manage employee relations and development through effective communications, coaching and training.
  • Continuous improvement of production and inventory needs and results.
  • Lead problem solving requirements for the organization to identify problems/opportunities, root cause analysis and problem resolution to facilitate timely, effective and efficient solutions through problem solving tools of Lean concepts.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety and production.
  • Develops and implements strategies, procedures and business plans needed to enhance company growth.
  • Work with senior team to set company performance goals.
  • Cultivates and provides opportunities for rising talent within the organization.
  • Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
  • Champions, drives, and ensures 5S requirements are met.
  • Assists with long-range operating goals, expansions efforts, and implementation of new and advanced technology.
  • Partners closely with CEO, CFO, Quality Management, Human Resources Management, and Sales to reach goals.
  • Partners with CEO and CFO to manage vendors and service contracts.
  • Determine operations headcount needs and ensure compliance with all company policies and optimize labor spending.
